There’s something majestic about late hours in the early morning. Over the course of several months, I developed a particular routine. First, I’d start with taking a mid-day nap, and I wouldn’t set any alarms. I’d just sleep until I naturally woke up. Which sounds trivial, I suppose. Because what is so significant about taking […]
‹ › The first thing I noticed was the way the light moved across the room. It did not arrive all at once. It came slowly, brushing against the edges of the walls, touching the corners of the photographs, then settling over everything like it had been invited. The room felt familiar, but not fixed. […]
Preliminary Thoughts Prelimary Thoughts Like many millennials, my web design experience started with Myspace. Come to think of it… I believe my old username was LilPatchy7… In 2009, I took a journalism course and my professor introduced me to something called a “blog” (thanks Andrea). So, I created my first site using Blogger, and it […]
The process of composing literary work, documented in photos.
I almost kept this one to myself. Not because I had nothing to say, but because I knew what it took to say it right. I wrote this from a place I do not like revisiting, plus, pain is easier to carry in private. But silence doesn’t always protect you, it simply shoulders the weight in one place. So, I let this speak for the parts of me that had to hurt, learn, and keep persisting. Narrated: by Ced.
This lives somewhere between the lesson and the leap. Where the ground shifts, the room changes, and every decision begins to carry more weight. It’s the moments that make you question what kind of person you are becoming. The cards are on the table, the room is quiet, and the next move requires more than confidence. Growth is not loud. Sometimes it’s a quiet moment when you realize what the table taught you.
This is LITERATURE. I start this piece with a welcome, and then I proceed to warm up your mind. Much like this site, nothing is black and white. Think about that twice… Pat writes literature. Some things are funny, other things are serious, or it might cause you to pause. So, this is my way of saying: come in, pay attention, and don’t rush through it. It’s all about connecting the dots… That’s LITERATURE. Or, it's just my FreeSense.
I wrote this piece to explain why pseudonyms make sense to me. Writers have always used names, personas, and distance to protect themselves while still telling the truth. In today’s world, that feels harder. Everyone is expected to have a brand, a face, and a story attached to the work. I’m thinking through what it means to write honestly, stay private, and still let the work speak for itself.

I explain my creative process in a real way. Not the clean version, but the actual process. The writing, the isolation, the routines, the late nights, the drafts, and the years it took to build my voice. This is about respecting the work, taking the craft seriously, and understanding that nothing meaningful comes without time, sacrifice, and patience.
